Our U21 footballers march on to final

December 17, 2015

Hearty congratulations to our U21 footballers who beat Oola today on a scoreline of 0-11 to 2-4. We led 6 points to 1 at half time. Upon resumption, Oola were awarded a penalty which they duly converted followed by another goal which deflected to the net. They also tagged on 2 points to give them a 3 point lead with 15 minutes to play. Our lads really put the shoulder to the wheel - never doubting their ability and showing great character - from the defense all the way up the field - a sense of composure and purpose grew throughout the team. With points from Davy Lyons, Charlie McCarthy and our final score from the right boot of Jack English, we took a 2 point lead with just minutes on the clock. Oola got to within a single point but we held tight to our lead and it took us over the line. We now face the winners of Na Piarsaigh and Rathkeale next weekend in what will be the first time the club has ever contested a Premier U21 Football Final. Be there - it'll be a huge game #ÁthDaraAbú
