5 Year Development Plan

In recent times our  Club membership and in particular our Bórd na nÓg membership has grown and with new housing developments in the village we expect this to continue. We currently have 175 boys playing hurling and football from U6’s to U16’s. We also have senior hurling and football teams competing at the highest level in the Limerick championships. These increased playing numbers combined with changes to the format of the Limerick Senior Club Championships which has necessitated our senior teams training from the month of January right through to October/November means that our facilities are struggling to meet the demands of our teams. Furthermore, we have a long-term tradition of supporting Adare Camogie and Ladies Football through use of our facilities and this of course is a tradition we wish to continue.

A committee drawn from our Bórd na nÓg and Senior Club have completed a comprehensive review of what can be done to improve every aspect of our existing facilities and have developed a 5 Year Development Plan which you can see by clicking on the link below . This plan significantly increases the available playing time on our pitch throughout the year and creates additional state of the art facilities to meet the demands of all our members.

We have recently completed phase 2 of this plan namely the regrading of our existing pitch, installation of pitch drainage and a sand-based playing surface. I am happy to report that the pitch grow in is progressing well . We are now planning the next phases of our plan including

Installation of hurling match standard floodlights and all associated works. Our sand-based pitch will be available for use all year round. Match standard floodlighting is required to allow all the teams in the Parish take advantage of this.

Installation of an all-weather running track on the right-hand side of the pitch to be used in the training programmes for all our underage and adult teams.

Extension of the ball wall area at the back of the pitch to create a multi-functional all-weather training area to be used in the preparation of all our underage teams

If we are to progress with the next phases of our plan outlined above, we need to put the necessary funding in place. We have applied for all available grant aid and are now seeking contributions from our loyal supporters and club members. You can support these important developments by contributing to Options 1 & 2 which are detailed in the attached fundraising document .
